The Austrian Chefs Association „VKÖ“ is pleased to welcome the presidents and delegates of the various European cooking associations to the
WorldChefs Congress in May 2023 in the westernmost state of Austria. Bregenz in Vorarlberg by the Lake of Constance welcomes you. We are pleased that you have given us the opportunity to
show Austrian and Vorarlberg hospitality and our region.

The Association of Austrian Chefs and I, as its President, are already looking forward to showing you the Vorarlberg region, the Rhine Valley and to being able to bring you closer to a
culinary experience with our highest quality food and considerate manufactures and producers. Austria is one of the top tourist countries in the world and one of our flagships is gastronomic education.
Our Austrian cuisine and culinary art, which is one of the world cuisines is matched with the warm hospitality of our country. The culinary and varied food technology is the calling card of the Austrian chefs,
in these two days we can only show you an overview, but we will do our best to offer as much as possible in this extraordinary trip of the WORLDCHEFS – Europe delegates.

We deliberately chose Vorarlberg and Bregenz because we are here with the European President Congress 2023 in the four country corner (Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Liechtenstein) and
for us, especially in these times, we can cherish our community and unit of the White Jackets. The KOCH G5 is happy to invite you to an aperitif in the port of Bregenz on the second day
in order to show this unity and to speak with a European voice even more strongly.

The Vorarlberg region is characterized by the quality of its small and medium-sized agricultural producers and their products, especially our Vorarlberger Bergkäse. It is an international delicacy
that is unparalleled. At the opening kitchen party, we will also be presenting these specialties and unique regional characteristics in the Hotel Schwärzler, where heads of state, stars and politicians stay
when they are guests at the Bregenz.

Festival, another of our cultural highlights. Bregenz hosts this festival on the largest lake stage in the world – and offers a unique experience in a fantastic setting which is situated on the Lake of Constance.

Lake Constance is a neutral, stateless area and all decisions must be made unanimously and in friendly agreement by the countries of Switzerland, Germany and Austria, which is why we deliberately chose to
have our gala dinner on the MS Austria, a historical, renovated luxury liner on Lake Constance – where the Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress SISI made their Kaiserfahrts.

After the challenging times of the last three years for all of us, we are all the more pleased that we can come together again in such a framework to discuss the challenges and topics of the
European cooking associations on a global parquet and, as with the concerns at Lake Constance, unanimously and in a friendly manner consent can be made. Do not miss this event and we look
forward to welcoming you as your country delegates and presidents here in the heart of Europe in Vorarlberg – Austria.

European Presidents Meeting
Bregenze, Austria
May 7 th = 9 th 2023

Dear Presidents and colleagues

It is a pleasure for us all to be gathering once again in the city of Bregenze on the shores of the
idyllic Lake Constance for the European Presidents Congress .
Since we last convened in Mechelen , Belgium much has happened not least the global pandemic
which devasted our industry , none of us were immune to its impact therefore the opportunity to
meet again is one that is eagerly anticipated .
Our hosts in Bregenze are the Association of Austrian Chefs who have planned for us an interesting
programme showcasing innovation , their cuisine and culture together with a most
enjoyable social programme.
At the meeting on Monday 8 th May we will have presentations from a number of speakers together
with reports from the Global Chef Regional Semi Finals and looking to the future the forthcoming
IKA Culinary Olympics in Stuttgart .
There will also be an opportunity for breakout meetings if required .
The European Presidents Congress is one of the most friendliest gatherings in Worldchefs and we
look forward to meeting Presidents, colleagues and partners from every region
